School uniforms should be enforced at all schools, private and public

I believe that all schools should enforce uniforms–not only private schools but public schools, too. This is a safety matter and I also feel it is fair for all schools to be equal so that all students will feel comfortable and equal.

Kids in public schools should be required to wear uniforms. One because this way no one feels bad if they were different clothes from everyone else and also so the apparel and schools stay appropriate.

I never felt different because of my clothes. Also, I think children should learn that your clothes don’t place any value on you as a person. I don’t undrestand this big uniform favor here. I never had any problems and neither do the children in my country. How about educating kids that there are differences in incomes and that not everybody has the same. Once you are out of high-school, there won’t be any uniforms in college and you have to deal with “competition”; you may as well learn it early. I went to an expensive private school and pretty much the poorest student there. However, I never felt any different and was accepted by students and faculty. I just had regular clothes and was fine. Some of my peers had Louis Vitton school bags, or Fendi Bags and I had my L.L Bean Back Pack; so what? I felt comfortable and fine and nobody ever mocked me about my appearance. I think it’s also the parents that need to teach their kids that clothes don’t make or break you as a person; it’s your character and actions that make you popular or not. Nevertheless, clothes show a degree of individuality and everybody should have this kind of degree of freedom.

I strongly disagree with dress code. Kids shouldn’t have to concentrate on stupid things having shirts tucked in,orif they have the right color(and shade of color). Stupid rules in some public schools have been made like only having certain colors of shoes that have to have matching shoe strings, or having solid colored socks, or having to have annoying collars on shirts. It is more important to wear something comfortable, so you can concentrate on school. I do agree that there should be some guidelines for clothes at school. If there weren’t uniforms fewer kids would want to change after school into inappropriate clothes.

No child should worry about what they wear. I think that they shouldn’t wear uniforms because kids should be able to express themselves. Especially, if they are young like 4-8 years old shouldn’t be able to wear uniforms. Kids should be able to be able express how they feel and not try to be like everybody else. They should let the children decide if they want to wear the uniforms are not. Other schools don’t let their children wear uniforms so why should just some schools wear uniforms. Everyone’s voices should be heard not just the superintendents but the kids also. They think just because we wore regular clothes more fights were happening but fights are happening all the time. So I disagree also that the children should voice their opinion on should they wear uniforms are not. Because now they worry about are your shirts tucked in, are you wearing the right socks, do you have the right color jacket, do you have clear or mesh backpacks, what type of shoes you wear, what type of undershirt you have on, is your shirt tucked in, and do you have the right type of belt. See they worry about so much about what the kids wear and the teachers dress any kind of way and I think if the students. wear uniforms the teachers should, too. But they worry about what the students are wearing and some students are dumber than a rock and the teachers on cell phones in class and never in the classrooms. To me I think just because you are poor you shouldn’t have to buy uniforms if they are worried if the people are poor, okay why are they making them buy their kids uniforms spending more money if they don’t have it. See if they already have decent clothes then their parents would only have to get them a few things for the knew school year instead of buying new backpacks, shoes, clothes, socks, undershirts, and supplies when they could only buy a few pair of pants, and maybe some knew shoes every know and again. See now the parents are spending more money than they can. They could make rules like no tight clothes, no short skirts or no skirts at all, and no short shorts, and no clothing too revealing if they do they will suffer the consequences. Like they could bring it back for a whole school year just to see how it would work. Give the kids a chance or a break because some students work harder than the other students. Now, they should think about the kids and not themselves for once.

I think that kids should have uniforms because it isn’t about freedom. School is a place of learning. I agree that childern should have uniforms because it isn’t about expressing yourself. We need to realize that school is a place where kids need to focuse on school work not on what they are wearing!! It’s not a place where kids are at the point of focusing on their social life. And also, kids should wear uniforms because if somebody likes guns or knives and they have a shirt, they are’t allowed to wear it to school so it also keeps kids from wearing inappropriate clothing.
